Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Sunday October 11 that he has asked the Centre to increase coal supply in anticipation of a possible power crisis in the State due to coal shortage.

Karnataka has received coal allotments from mines in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur and Odisha’s Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, adding that both projects require clearances.

“I met with Bhupendra Yadav, Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change who has also assured me that once the Maharashtra letter reaches him, the process will be expedited,” said Bommai.
