CM Bommai holds emergency meeting on rain havoc amidst Diwali celebrations

Bengaluru: On the evening of Friday November 5, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai held a flood and rain review meeting, when the entire State was celebrating the Diwali.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary P. Ravi Kumar, BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan and others were present in the meeting held at official residence Krishna.

In the meeting CM Bommai expressed his displeasure over crumbling infrastructure in the City. He asked the officials to prepare the short and long-term strategy to save the City from frequent water logging, bad roads.

He asked the authorities to ensure that rajakaluve are desilted every year and the drainage are covered with retention walls.

He asked officials to prepare zonal wise challenges and the funds required to find a permanent solution.
