Bengaluru: In the midst of nation-wide protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa alleged that the Congress party and its leaders such as MLA UT Khader were behind the protests.
Speaking to ANI, Yediyurappa said, “The Congress is behind the protests against CAA, and this situation has occurred because of people like Khader. Taking care of Muslims is our responsibility. I request everyone to maintain peace in the state.”
He also warned that Congress leaders would have to face the consequences if they continued to support the CAA protests. Earlier today, CM BSY chaired a meeting of senior police officials and asked them to take all measures to avoid any violence during the protests against the CAA and NRC.
Meanwhile, the CM also informed reporters that he would be traveling to Delhi in order to discuss the expansion of the Cabinet on December 21.
