Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who is eyeing second term as the CM has decided to field his close friend and Public Works Department (PWD) minister H C Mahadevappa from C V Raman Nagar constituency of Bengaluru. Presently this constituency is represented by BJP strongman Raghu S who is the relative of party veteran Aravind Limbavali.
According to the sources, Siddaramaiah who wants more seats from the city constituencies wants a strong candidate against Raghu S, a three times MLA. “Last time Congress had fielded former mayor P Ramesh against S Raghu. But he was defeated. So party wants a stronger candidate this time, ” said sources.
According to the sources, CM Siddaramaiah has assured that Mahadevappa’s son Sunil Bose will be given T Narasipura ticket. “But H C Mahadevappa is reluctant to contest from C V Raman Nagar constituency as he knows that the BJP has very strong hold on the constituency. He wants party ticket from Nanjanagudu constituency and T Narasipura ticket to his son Sunil Bose,” sources explained.
