CM demonstrates walking is healthy: Goes on foot from Vidhana Soudha to Kanteerava Stadium

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai launched a walkathon organised by the Department of Health and Family Welfare on the occasion of World Heart Day on Wednesday September 29.

The walkathon began from the Gandhi statue in Vidhana Soudha premises. CM Bommai participated and walked from Vidhana Soudha to Kanteerava Stadium.

Speaking on this occasion he said, “We are observing the World Heart Day under the theme of ‘Hrudaya Bandhavya Beseyona’. Walking is very important to maintain health. At least half an hour of walk everyday midst of busy day is a healthy schedule. Even I will start walking everyday, and by following this let us be fit and healthy.”

“Walking, exercise, and Yogasana are very important for maintaining health in today’s technological and modern lifestyle. It is essential to keep our hearts healthy, he opined.

Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar, MP P. C. Mohan and others were also present.
