Bengaluru: The countdown has begun for the winter session of the state Legislature at the Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi. But, a day before the start of the session, CM H D Kumaraswamy has done unthinkable.
Instead of staying at the Circuit House in Belagavi, which was renovated for the purpose of the CM’s stay, HDK has decided to stay at the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) guest house which is around 20 kilometers from the Suvarna Soudha.
According to sources in the Department of Public Works which owns the circuit house, it was repaired and renovated recently as the CM was scheduled to stay there. “But PWD minister H D Revanna, who visited the Circuit House on Saturday, directed CM HDK not to stay there as it was not a pious place,” said sources.
