Bengaluru: Even though the Congress state unit president Dinesh Gundu Rao invited Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to attend the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting, scheduled to be held at the Suvarna Soudha today, the latter is expected to give it a miss.
Speaking to reporters, former CM Siddaramaiah, who is also heading the CLP, informed that HDK would not be attending the meeting. “The meeting has been called to discuss various development and party organisation related issues. The Cabinet expansion issue will not be discussed. CM HDK will not be attending the meeting,” he said.
If sources in the Congress are to be believed, CM HDK decided against attending the meeting fearing a verbal attack by a few Congress MLAs against the style of functioning of the government. “A majority of the Congress MLAs are not happy with their own leaders as well as the JDS ministers. They may use the meeting to express their apprehensions. So he decided against attending the meeting,” explained a JDS leader.
