Bengaluru: Continuing his attack against the Chief Minister, JD(S) State Chief and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has demanded CBI probe to find out as to how the CM owns a Hublot.
In a press meet on Friday, refusing to buy the explanation of the CM that the watch estimated to cost Rs 70 lakh was gifted to him by his three decade old doctor friend, HDK raised apprehensions and said that there are all possibilities of the watch owned by the CM being a stolen one!
“On the day I released pictures of the CM’s watch, a person close to an NRI named Dr Sudhakar Shetty, a Mangalorean settled in Bengaluru called me and told me that last year Dr Shetty had reported burglary from his home. In the burglary, Dr Shetty lost 4-5 expensive watches and one of them resembled the watch that is worn by the CM,” HDK said demanding detailed probe into the watch issue by the CBI.
On Thursday, the CM had said that Dr Girish Sharma, a resident of Dubai and an old friend of his had gifted him the watch.
But, Kumaraswamy, who first raked up the issue that the CM is wearing a luxury watch costing is lakhs, has a different theory now.
However, as per media reports, the CM has been further raged by the latest allegations leveled by HDK.
“Kumaraswamy should be ashamed to make such comments. Why should I wear a stolen watch? He is known for not taking any issue to logic end. This was a legally gifted watch and I am declaring it as a state asset. I will hand over the watch to the government,” the CM is quoted in India Today.
