Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday advised the education department officials to take measures for the distribution of uniform, bicycles and shoes in the beginning of academic year.
Speaking at the review meeting on the progress of primary and secondary education department, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had directed the officials to commence the process of floating tenders inviting bidders for the supply of uniform, bicycles and shoes for the students of primary and high schools. “It is better to supply uniform, bicycles and shoes to the students in June. I do not want the officials to delay the supply uniform, shoes and bicycles to the students,” the chief minister said.
The chief minister had agreed to the proposal of supplying churidar for the 8th, 9th and 10th standard girl students as uniform. Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanvir Sait, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs T B Jayachandra, Chief Minister’s parliamentary secretary Govindaraj and Principal Secretary L K Atheeq were present on the occasion.
