Bengaluru: A Congress delegation led by Former Minister H. K. Patil demanded State Legislative Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri to investigate into the disappearance of about 19 lakh Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the country.

The delegation submitted a 2,750-pages document with regard to the same. Further, the delegation has urged for an independent investigation by the Election Commission of India on the issue.

The delegation stressed that an independent inquiry is prime to allay any doubt among the voters. This would also help in electoral reforms, the delagation added.
