Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Vice President Former Minister Pramod Madhwaraj is likely to join BJP if he is offered the Udupi ticket in the 2023 State Assembly election.
Raghupati Bhat is the incumbent MLA of this Constituency. He is a BJP leader.
According to BJP sources, the party High Command is interested to induct him to the party as he is enjoying a considerable clout on the numerically significant Mogaveera community. However, as Raghupati Bhat has become the Hindutva hero post Hijab controversy, the party is in a dilemma.
“Pramod informed Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday April 12 at his one to one meeting that he is ready to join the party only if he is offered Udupi ticket. However, CM has asked sometime to discuss the matter with the party State and National Leaders,” informed a BJP Leader.
