Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah were stopped by the police from marching to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s residence on Thursday April 14.
Congress Leaders Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah tried to defy the barricade and move towards CM’s residence. However, police timely action put a full stop to the plans of the duo. Many other Congress members too joined Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah.
Further, in order to stop the situation from escalating, the police detained the duo and others. Congress has been demanding the arrest of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister K. S Eshwarappa who has been named in an FIR in connection with the death of contractor Santosh Patil.
Congress party held protest at the Vidhana Soudha in after Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah and others were detained. Party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala was present at the protest.
