Bengaluru: A couple died on the spot as the car in which they were travelling hit the police escort vehicle of the Pontiff of the Pejawar Matt Shree Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji, at 9 AM on the Bengaluru-Chintamani road.
According to the police, the Pejawar seer was travelling from Bengaluru to Chintamani. Near the Karappanahalli gate in Hosakote, an Indica car collided with the police escort vehicle of the seer. “Ramakrishnaiah and his wife Sarvalochana who were inside the car died on the spot. The car was over speeding and the driver lost control and hit the escort vehicle,” said Hosakote police.
“PSI Shambulingaiah, who was in the escort vehicle also sustained injuries on his leg. The Pejawar seer left from the spot only after an ambulance arrived,” said police.
