Mangaluru: With spike in COVID-19 cases in the city, the Mangaluru City Corporation has decided to shut down its office in Lalbaugh for a week.

This decision was taken jointly by Mayor Divakar Pandeshwar and Municipal Commissioner Shanady Ajith Kumar Hegde.

Mayor Divakar Pandeshwar speaking to Newskarnataka.com confirmed that the MCC office will be shut for a week from Monday, June 29.

” As the number of Covid-19 cases have been increasing day after day, it is inevitable now to take this decision. Prior to this, we found infection only with the returnees from other places. But now, it seems like community spreading has begun. Hence, the MCC office will be shut for a week. The further decision will be taken only after a week,” he informed.
