Bengaluru: On January 3, Savitribai Phule’s birth anniversary will be celebrated in all the schools across the state.
A directive has been issued by the Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar.
Savitribai Phule is the first female teacher in the country. The dalits consider her as the first reformer who worked for their cause. There was a demand to celebrate her birth anniversary as Teacher’s day.
On January 3, in all the schools, Phule’s birth anniversary will be marked by teaching students about the achievements and ideals of the dalit icon.
