Bengaluru: The Dasara this year will be a low-key affair as the State has seen several farmers’ death and there has always been a drought-like situation in Karnataka.
This year’s Dasara, which will be held from Oct. 14 to Oct. 23, at Mysuru will be celebrated in a simple manner, said Chief Minister Siddharamaiah during the Dasara High Level Committee meeting held at Vidhana Soudha in the city on Monday morning.
Speaking to media after the meeting, the Chief Minister said that modalities on the conduct of Dasara-2015 would be decided after talks with leaders of the farming community, litterateurs and others in a few days.
The meeting also did not take any decision on who would be inaugurating this year’s festivities, though the name of novelist Dr S L Bhyrappa was proposed by some.
