Bengaluru: When the entire world is celebrating the Eid festival, here is a heartwarming story from a remote village in the Davanagere District of the State where Hindus donated land to build the Idgah wall.
Last year, the Idgah wall in Anaberu village, Mayakonda hobli in the District, collapsed due to heavy rains. This year, a new wall has been built on the Idgah grounds. However, when more land was required for the new wall, local residents Rajashekarappa, K. C. Rajappa, and Balagettara Shekarappa donated land. Now, the new wall has been inaugurated.
Rajappa is a member of the management committee for the Anjaneya Swamy Temple.
The local Muslim community felicitated these donors for their support of the construction of the wall.
According to Rajappa, this village is known for its communal harmony. “We should not allow any kind of communal tension,” he says.
