Davanagere: An additional 2 lakh metric tonnes of ragi would be procured under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme after getting approval from the Centre, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Speaking to mediapersons at Jagalur in the District, CM Bommai said, already 2 lakh tonnes and another 1.14 lak tonnes of ragi have been procured. As there is more demand for procurement of additional ragi, the issue has been raised with the Union, he said.
He added that we will further discuss with the Centre and get the approval for 2 lakh tonnes of ragi.
