Davanagere: The list of farmer suicide seems to be never ending, in a recent incident of a farmer from Neraginakere, disturbed by the failure in his crops committed suicide by consuming poison.
The deceased identified as 60-year-old man Rudreshappa a resident of Neraginakere under Nyamathi police station limits of Honnali taluk of Davanagere district reportedly suffered crop losses in the past three years.
The chilly and maize crops which he cultivated on 4-acre of land were damaged. Three months ago, he drilled a borewell and even leveled his land.
Rudreshappa consumed poison at 10.30pm on Tuesday. Passersby noticed Rudreshappa lying on the ground near the government school in the village. He was shifted to Shimoga Government Hospital where he died on Wednesday.
