Davanagere: Sri Gangadharendra Saraswathi Swamiji of Sri Sondha Swarnavalli Mahasamsthana, Sirsi, said that he would welcome if a chapter of Bhagavad Gita is included in the school curriculum.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday October 31 he said that the entire Bhagavad Gita cannot be implemented. They are demanding that a chapter should be included in the curriculum which is acceptable to all. He said that his demand has been brought to the notice of the Government.
Fifteen years ago, there was no opportunity to lecture the Bhagavad Gita in the school. Now the recitation of Bhagavad Gita has been allowed in the Pratibha Puraskar competition. A chapter should be included in the curriculum so that there is no scope for any controversy. He said that “I am not saying that a particular chapter should be taken but it is only our job to urge the Government about this.”
Replying to a question, he said the next is up to the Government.
