Davanagere: “It is the responsibility of our younger generation to move forward with the thought of religion, culture and spirituality, said Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and added that the youth should come forward to maintain peace, equality, humanity in the society with the attitude that all are equal, and that we are all one by adopting the religion-culture and knowledge of Sri Bhagavad Gita.
He was speaking at the State-level Sri Bhagavad Gita Abhiyana Maha Samarpana programme of Sri Bhagavad Gita Abhiyan Karnataka-II organised at Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra in Davanagere. “Since 2007, Sri Gangadharendra Saraswati Swamiji Sri Bhagavad Gita Abhiyan has been undertaken through recitation of shlokas, Gita discourse, distribution of books, exhibition of Gita books, cultural programmes on Sri Bhagavad Gita etc. He expressed happiness that the work of imparting Gita knowledge since childhood is commendable.
“Before the beginning of the Mahabharata war, Lord Krishna explained to Arjuna the various aspects of karma in life and the teachings he preached are mentioned in the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. Gita is knowledge, religion, and culture. The Gita is the book of good life. It teaches us the art of living a stress-free life, he noted.
