K’taka: Harassed teacher refuses to file case, forgives students

Davanagere: The teacher who has been harassed by a group of students at a government high school in Nallur, Davanagere district’s Channagiri town chose to forgive them despite request for harsh punishment.

The selfless act moved the teenagers’ hearts, and they asked for forgiveness.

According to sources, the incident occurred on December 3. When the teacher entered the classroom, he noticed gutka packets littered over the floor. He requested that the students maintain their discipline. When he started teaching, some of them created a nuisance and one of the students is shown on video trying to assault the teacher with a dustbin.

As the video of the incident went viral, many people were shocked by the students’ horrible behaviour toward their teacher.

According to sources, MLA Madalu Virupakshappa arrived in the village, he met with the teacher and promised that the students involved would face severe consequences. He said that the teenagers were young and unaware of the consequences of their behaviour. he even urged people not to punish them or file complaints against them because it would affect the youth’s future.
