Davanagere: Raghu, brother of Madhu, the prime accused in SI’s murder case has been arrested by the police in Harihar in Davanagere district on Saturday for questioning.

Five special teams formed by the IGP central range have been sent to Davanagere, Shivamogga, Chitradurga and Ballari to trace the accused.
Police sources have revealed that on the day of the crime, the person who was with the prime accused Madhu was not his father Krishnappa but a habitual offender Harish Babu. It is learnt that Madhu had taken the dagger from Harish and had stabbed Jagadish. Krishnappa passed away a few years ago and Harish allegedly had an extra-marital affair with Madhu’s mother.
According to sources one of the accused, Santhosh alias Kunta belonging to the same gang, was nabbed in Vidyaranyapura 15 days ago in connection with theft cases. He had given crucial information that Madhu and Harish were residents of Madanayakanahalli village near Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
Harish himself was involved in more than 40 cases of bike theft and house burglary in various parts of the state. Krishnappa and his sons Madhu and Raghu took to crime a few years ago, a senior police officer told sources.
Jagadish, sub-inspector of Doddaballapur, son of a retired police officer was stabbed to death while chasing two bike thieves on Friday.
