Bengaluru: BJP and RSS circles are abuzz with the rumors that CM BS Yediyurappa used the COVID 19 crisis to sideline DCM Dr. CN Ashwath Narayan and bring revenue minister R Ashok back into the limelight. Now R Ashok has taken over the city’s administrative control.
With a solid backup from the party national general secretary, Malleshwaram MLA CN Ashwath Narayan was able to overtake R Ashok to become DCM. He is considered a lightweight compared to R Ashok. Along with this, RSS leaders were able to bring BH Anil Kumar as the new commissioner of BBMP. All these were considered as the set back for CM BS Yediyurappa.
However, now a surge in the number of COVID 19 cases helped CM to stamp his authority on the administration. He has now sidelined DCM Ashwath Narayan who was once the face of city’s COVID 19 management. BH Anil Kumar has also now been shunted out.
“It is often alleged that COVID 19 is politics. If the state political developments are seen, it looks like everyone is using the situation to gain political mileage,” said a BJP leader.
