Bengaluru: The members of the Advocates’ Association of Bangalore (AAB) held a protest against the threat posed against the institution of the judiciary and the life threat to Chief Justice on Wednesday March 23 at 12.30 pm.
Several resolutions were passed in the general body held at the High Court of Karnataka on the issue of threat to Chief Justice.
It was resolved to unanimously condemn the life threats given by an organisation from Madurai against the Chief Justice and to condemn any threats or attacks by any other organisation in this regard on social media. It was decided to request the Chief Justice of India to take appropriate measures to protect the institution and all judges and lawyers working under the judicial institutions of this nation.
As the institution of judiciary involves both judges and lawyers it was resolved to demand the government of Karnataka to expedite the framing and passing of the Advocates Protection Act immediately and forthwith in the lines of the Judges Protection Act and afford full protection to the institution and all persons working for the same.
