Bengaluru: The state government would take a decision on the advantages and disadvantages of granting a two-year paid holiday for PU college lecturers, who are recruited in 2013, to complete the two-year B.Ed course, according to Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanveer Sait.
Speaking with media persons after attending a meeting convened by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at Krishna, Minister Tanveer Sait said that around 700 PU lecturers were appointed in 2013 but they did not complete B.Ed course as per the norms.
“The lecturers want the government to sanction a two-year paid holiday for them to complete the B.Ed course. We have discussed whether to sanction them scholarship or paid holiday. A final decision will be taken after holding discussions with the leaders of PU College Lecturers’ Association,” the minister said.
