Bengaluru: The police have arrested six youth including three minors for the murder of diploma student of PES College in Bengaluru.
The police have identified the accused as Yashwanth alias Thippa (19) and Srinivas V alias Seena (19), residents of Srinagara, and Suman (19), a resident of Kasthurba Nagar. The prime accused of the case Shekar alias Motte and two others are still at large.
The deceased, Harsha, a second-year diploma student was stabbed by the accused near PES College in Banashankari at 2 pm on Tuesday. Harsha later succumbed to the injuries.
According to the police, Shekar, the prime accused in this case, had a fight with Harsha over a mobile phone on December 19. Harsha and his friends had attacked Shekar and the latter, in a retaliation, had attacked Harsha near PES College with cricket bats. However, in the scuffle, Harsha was stabbed and the assailants fled from the spot.
It was said that a few hospitals that were approached for saving Harsha had refused to admit him due to the legal complication of such an incident. After the incident, N R Mahantha Reddy, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chamarajapet sub-division, had formed a special team to nab the accused.
