Bengaluru: A complaint has been filed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s Deputy Secretary with the Vidhana Soudha police after a scam involving the CM’s medical fund surfaced a few days ago. The staff at the CM’s office found that as many as 14 persons have submitted fake documents to get benefits under the CM’s medical relief fund.
“A special team of police which went to Mandya detained three accused in this connection and further investigation on whether any officials were involved in the case is being carried out”, said a senior police official.
Sandeep Patil, DCP (Central), said, “We have received 14 complaints from the last one week from Somashekar, the deputy secretary of CM. The officials of CM’s office found during verification that fake ID proofs, addresses, medical certificates and other fake documents were submitted for the benefit of medical funds.”
“Preliminary investigations have revealed that fake certificates were created for medical funds in the name of others. When we visited some of the addresses given by the accused, we found no such persons there. In another case, a person had claimed the fund in the name of another person, who was not aware of this. We are collecting evidence on those who had come to the office and approached the officials,” Patil added.
