Bengaluru: Noted writer and film director Dr Baragur Ramachandrappa has been chosen to chair the 82nd Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelan to be held at Raichur in December.
The Central Committee of Kannada Sahitya Parishat has chose Dr Ramachandrappa as the president of prestigious sammelan at a meeting held in Delhi on Sunday.
Dr Ramachandrappa is the recipient of the Pampa award of the state government in recognition of his contribution to Kannada literature.
Dr Ramachandrappa has expressed his gratitude for Kannada Sahitya Parishat and people of Karnataka for this honour. “I am elated. I consider it as an honour for those who taught me two write Kannada alphabets,’’ he said.
