Bengaluru: Minister of Primary and Secondary Education B. C. Nagesh has said on Thursday January 27 that the department is prepared to continue regular classes as soon as schools are reopened.

On the advice of experts and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, a final decision would be made at the next Cabinet meeting on January 29, he added.

According to sources, the regulation of mandatory attendance of 75 per cent for students taking final examinations is unlikely to be enforced. Children will not be forced to attend offline sessions as attendance will not be mandatory. However, students, on the other hand, will benefit from the reopening of schools as they have been adversely affected by online classes. said the Minister.

Despite the fact that cases in children had been reported, the Minister said that attendance had not fallen since the cases were mild. He said that the Education Department has proposed that schools reopen on Monday January 31, and that the suggestion will be discussed at the next Cabinet meeting.
