Bengaluru: As Sandalwood actor-politician Late Ambareesh’s wife Sumalatha Ambareesh has decided to step into politics, the state politics is observing another high drama. It is said that the decision of Sumalatha has come as yet another jolt to the coalition government at the state.
As the Congress leaders had decided to share the Lok Sabha seats by giving JDS its strongholds such as Mandya, Hassan, Shivamogga, and Bengaluru North, Sumalatha’s possible entry into politics is said o be giving tough time.
The situation is worsening because Ambareesh’s fans have demanded a ticket for Sumalatha from the Congress, that too in Mandya.
Meanwhile, it is also confirmed that the JDS would be placing MP L R Shivarame Gowda from the Mandya constituency. Earlier, the Congress leaders had said that only Sumalatha and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda would be given an opportunity to contest from Mandya.
According to the people of Mandya, they are completely disheartened by the way in which Sumalatha was welcomed to the party, as none of the Congress leaders expressed themselves positively.
Sumalatha had expressed her views of contesting independently from Mandya, and has asked for time to decide on the next move.
