Bengaluru: BJP leader KS Eshwarappa on Wednesday, November 18, demanded a ban on media including newspapers as, according to him, it is primarily responsible for the increasing number of rapes in the country.
During a session, Eshwarappa said that rapes in the country, especially in the state were on the rise due to high media publicity. Hence, he demanded the state government to ban media itself.
It may be recalled that the former deputy chief minister had made a shocking remark, asking a lady journalist what could his party do if she was raped by someone.
