Bengaluru: The police have nabbed a person, along with three of his friends, for allegedly conspiring to kill his wife on Wednesday. After receiving a tip-off on the conspiracy, the police arrested the four.
According to the Vyalikaval police, Narendra Babu, 36, who works as an attender at a cooperative bank, and his wife Renuka, 30, were having a marital discord for over seven years.
The police said the couple had been married for 12 years and have a 9-year-old son. They separated three years ago, but Renuka came back a few months ago demanding that some part of the property belonging to Babu, who comes from an affluent family, be transferred to her.
The police said when Renuka came back, Babu allegedly hatched a plan to get her murdered.
Enlisting three of his friends, identified as Chinnaswamy, Abhilash, Shridhar, he planned to waylay Renuka during a walk, throw chilli powder and stab her to death. However, an informant who had heard of their plan alerted the police. The four were arrested on Wednesday morning and by Thursday, they confessed about their conspiracy.
