Bengaluru: Under pressure, the state government has finally brought the Excise department under the ambit of Sakala, which will guarantee services to the applicants within a stipulated period of time.
According to sources in the department, in the first phase, a total of 38 services offered by the department have been brought under the ambit of the scheme.
“There were a large number of allegations that corruption is rampant in the delivery of services. Keeping in mind these allegations, we have decided to bring the department under Sakala,” informed officers.
According to the sources, henceforth, various activities including renewal of services, licenses must be given to the applicants within a stipulated period. “Soon we will include more services and launch an online service delivery scheme to ensure that middlemen and corruption will come down,” he added.
