Bengaluru: Predicting that the Congress will be divided soon, Minister CT Ravi has said that the exodus of the Congress leaders into the BJP folds will happen now.
“Nothing can be done in a clandestine manner. All of the details will be revealed very soon,” he said adding that the Congress leaders who have expressed their desire to join the BJP are not coming into the new party in lieu of money or power, but it is out of desperation to be out of the party to which they do not feel the belongingness anymore. “There are differences of opinion and these leaders have decided to break all ties with the Congress,” the minister told the reporters.
Taking a dig at former chief minister Siddaramaiah for his recent statement that the Congress will win maximum seats in the by-polls and then the BSY-led BJP government will topple, Ravi questioned as to how many predictions of Siddaramaiah have ever turned out to be true.
“It was Siddaramaiah who proclaimed that Narendra Modi will never become the Prime Minister. He had then said that the BJP will be reduced to a single digit in the 2019 elections. He had even said that he will become CM for the second term, but he faced defeat in his home turf. Narendra Modi went on to become the Prime Minister for the second term,” said Ravi adding that in a democracy it is not a Siddaramaiah or a CT Ravi that makes the decisions. It is the voters who are supreme.
“If at all Siddaramaiah had the power, he would have written off CM’s post as his personal property and passed it on to his son after him,” said Ravi.
