Fake Twitter account: CM’s media advisor files complaint against miscreant

Bengaluru: A complaint has been filed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s media advisor against a fake Twitter holder who was allegedly spreading derogatory tweets.

Dinesh Amin Mattu, Siddaramaiah’s media advisor in a letter to the superintendent of police (SP), cyber crime division of CID said, “A twitter handle in the name of CMofKarnataka has been hindering the image of the chief minister and spreading false rumours. Initially the twitter account of CMofKarnataka had posted few derogatory tweets. However, the account was deactivated later. But now, the new twitter handle is actively posting derogatory messages.”

Satirical and derogatory remarks had been posted on the Twitter handle @CMokarnataka which resembles the CM’s official handle @CMofKarnataka. All tweets have been deleted after the complaint was lodged.

Cyber crime police have registered the complaint and the case is being investigated.
