Bengaluru: Former minister and rebel MLA Roshan Baig is likely to stay away from the Shivajinagar by-elections.
According to the sources close to him, Baig met with family members and supporters at his Shivajinagar residence on Saturday, November 16 night. During the meeting, it is said he gave enough hints.
Baig, who was expecting a BJP ticket, now fears that he may lose the election due to the IMA scam shadow.
“He is not going to contest,” confirmed one of his close associates.
Baig, a seasoned politician, was a minister in the Congress-JD(S) coalition government. He quit the Congress party after criticising party leader Siddaramaiah.
