Bengaluru: Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women, became the first college in the Garden City to conduct paperless examination successfully.
The city-based college conducted two exams – Constitution and Environmental studies and Computer applications, which are non-core subjects for undergraduate courses on Saturday. The college associated with Ipomo Communications India Private Limited for technical assistance. As per the college instructions, the company had uploaded the question papers through Mobile Mark Recognise technology (MMR).
Speaking to media, the college authorities informed that as the question papers were in ABCD series, each student will get different series of question papers and it is impossible to indulge in malpractice. The college had given the tabs to the students. “We decided to do something new and introduced paperless examination using tabs. As these non-core subjects were multiple choice it was easy. We have provided codes to each student and they need to scan the quick response code before answering the paper. The tab will not respond until the exam time starts,” said a top official of the college.
The students, once completing the exam had to click on the submit button. And before submitting they could even change the answers they had marked. The results were announced soon after the exam got over.
