Bengaluru: The police have arrested five people for allegedly hacking a rowdy-sheeter to death on Sunday in Subramanayapura police station limits.
The police have identified the arrested persons as Jayanth (29) from Gabbadi village in Kanakapura taluk, Mahadeva (24) from Girigowdana Doddi in Uttarahalli hobli, Kaushik (20) from Paruvayyanapalya in Harohalli hobli, Vinay (22) from Hedamaranahalli in Uyyamballi hobli and Rakesh (21) from Chunchughatta Main Road near Carmel Jyothi School, Beeresvaranagar, Bengaluru.
According to the police, the accused had engaged a tempo traveler to go to Mysuru on Sunday night. It was said that police arrested them while boarding the tempo traveler near PES College in Bengaluru.
The police said that old enmity was the cause for the accused to hack the rowdy-sheeter to death.
It may be recalled, Ganesh, a 37-year-old history-sheeter-turned-realtor was hacked to death in broad daylight in Subramanyapura police station limits on Sunday. An armed gang ambushed the victim when he was on his way to a recreational club on Chunchughatta Main Road and fled from the spot after hacking him to death.
