Five govt officials’ residences, office raided by ACB

Bengaluru: Swinging into action, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids on the premises of five public servants, who allegedly possessed assets disproportionate (DA) to their known source of income, in Mysuru, Bengaluru, Ramanagara and Kolar.

In Mysuru, the ACB raided the office and residential premises of K R Mahesh, Assistant Engineer, Mysore Urban Development Authority. It also raided the office and residence of G C Suresh, Revenue Inspector, Kengeri, Bengaluru South taluk.

Apart from this, ACB has also raided the office and residences of Narasimhaiah, Section Superintendent, Muzrai Department, at DC’s office in Kolar, and his residence in Malur. They also recovered documents from the office of M R Chalapathigowda, Accounts Assistant, Yeldur Grama Panchayat, Srinivasapura, Kolar, and his residence at Agara in Mulbagal taluk of Kolar district and also of Girish, Bill Collector, Bannikuppe GP, Ramanagara district.

Cases were registered under Section 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act after which the raids were conducted. The ACB stated that they had seized documents related to assets and also that the search was still on to evaluate the DA and are verifying the documents relating to the properties owned by the accused officials.
