Ballari: Ruling coalition of the state- the Congress and the JDS organised a victory rally in Ballari, where the Congress won the parliamentary seat after the gap of 14 years on November 3 by-election. Bigwigs of both the parties attended the rally and used the to occasion to criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Former Prime Minister, JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda announced in the rally that in the 2019 general election, the JDS-Congress alliance will continue. “We want to end the dictatorial rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he announced.
“There is an emergency-like situation in the country. The central government is targeting the opposition parties,” he alleged.
Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah continued his tirade against Reddy brothers, BSY and the B Sreeramulu. “We accepted Reddy’s challenge and won the election on their home turf. In Shivamogga we ensured that BSY’s son faces stiff competition,” he said.
Major irrigation minister DK Shivakumar stated that AICC supremo Sonia Gandhi is happy after Ballari triumph and CM HD Kumaraswamy will soon announce a package to the district.
Highlights of the event were that even though Siddaramaiah and HD Deve Gowda sat next to each other they didn’t talk much. CM HDK’s absence led to a lot of speculations that he dislikes newly elected Ballari MP VS Ugrappa.
