Bengaluru: Former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy on Tuesday announced his plan of making Kannada films shortly.
Speaking to media persons here after launching a video on Kannada Nadageethe at Chamundeswari Studios, Janardhan Reddy recalled how he was attracted towards Kannada Nadageethe during his school days.
“I am the son of a police constable. I got the first rank in a reading competition of Mahabharata and Ramayana in the state during my school days. Vishwa Hindu Parishad had organized that competition. I have also participated Kannada Rajyotsava programme in Manchester. Though I am not a great singer but sung Kannada Nadageethe,’’ Janardhan Reddy said.
He said that he had a passion and respect towards Karnataka and Kannada Nadageethe. “Kannada film industry has attracted me a lot. So, I have decided to make films in the near future. Politics and films are like two eyes for me,’’ he said.
He said the purpose of launching video on Kannada Nadageethe was to give a new look for Kannada Nadageethe.
“We brought this video under Ayyappa’s direction. Rajesh Kata has worked behind the camera while Kaushik Harsha scored music. Shashidhar Adapa worked as art director and editing was done by Lakshman Reddy,’’ he said.
