Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has decided against expanding the egg scheme for students across the State.
Under this scheme, boiled eggs will be distributed to children between classes I and X in the government and government-aided schools along with the midday meal.
As per the decision, this scheme will be implemented only in seven districts of the Kalyana Karnataka region.
The egg distribution will start on June 1.
The students from Bidar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Yadagiri, Koppala, Ballari, and Vijayapura will get the eggs.
The vegetarian students will get bananas or chikki instead of eggs.
