Bengaluru: On Friday December 17, the Horticulture Department has issued a set of guidelines for dog owners visiting Cubbon Park based on the directions of the Animal Husbandry Department and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

According to the order, pets must be on a leash no longer than six feet, as leashing pets assures that other passersby have space and feel comfortable walking around.

All dog owners must have a scoop to collect their pets’ excreta and dispose of it in designated dustbins. Pet owners must also ensure that their pets are not a nuisance to others, that they are healthy, clean, and are vaccinated.

According to the order, pet owners must also refrain from feeding street dogs in locations where children play and people walk.

It further stated that ferocious and large breed dogs are not permitted on the premises and that owners are responsible for any injuries or bites caused by their dogs.
