Bengaluru: The government has decided to allot sites in Kempegowda Layout (K G layout) for all the affected applicants deprived of sites in Arkavathy layout.
A decision to this effect was taken on December 17 at the Chief Minister’s home office “Krishna” in consultation with Bengluru Development Authority (BDA) and Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB) officials.
Disclosing details on the outcome of the meeting, BDA President K Venkatesh said, “Due to errors committed by BDA in the past many people were deprived of sites in Arkavathy Layout. They have been running to BDA offices almost daily seeking justice. Considering their plight, an equivalent site in K G Layout will be allotted without further delay”
Clarifying that Arkavathy Layout was left with no space for new sites, BDA president said fresh offers will be sent to all the applicants deprived of sites in Arkavathy Layout so that they can opt for a suitable alternative in K G Layout.
Around 300 acres of land in Arkavathy Layout is under litigation whereas any number of applicants can be accommodated in KG layout, president clarified.
Speaking on the occasion, BWSSB engineering division chief said BDA had allotted Rs 159 Crore in the past and assured to release an additional amount of Rs 359 Crore in phases to carry out infrastructure works in the layout.
