Bengaluru: Following a row over wearing hijab in classrooms in some Karnataka colleges, BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel has said the State Government will not allow ‘Talibanisation.’
Speaking to mediapersons he said, “There isn’t any scope for such things (wearing Hijab in classrooms). Our government will take stringent measures. People must adhere to the school’s rules and regulations. Talibanisation will not be allowed,” he said.
Kateel asserted that bringing religion into educational institutions is wrong and that what children need is education. “Schools are the Temples of ‘Sarasvati’ (Goddess of knowledge). It is the students’ responsibility to learn and follow the school’s rules,” he added.
