Bengaluru: Veteran judge at state’s top court H G Ramesh has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court on October 7.
The present Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee will retire on October 9 and Ramesh will be the acting Chief Justice with effect from Tuesday October 10.
Hunchadakatte Gopaliah Ramesh was appointed as the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court by the Ministry of Law and Justice on Saturday.
Born on January 16, 1957, Ramesh began his service as an advocate on July 16, 1982. He practiced at Karnatak High Court from 1982 to 2003 and was appointed as an Additional Judge on May 12, 2003. On September 24, 2004 he was appointed as a Permanent Judge.
