Bengaluru: Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Council B. K. Hariprasad on Thursday May 5 said that Upper House Chairman Basavaraj Horatti joining BJP before quitting the constitutional post as a ‘fraud’. He demanded the latter’s immediate resignation.
Stating that the conduct of the Chairman comes under the ambit of the anti-defection law, Hariprasad said Horatti is occupying a constitutional post, and his meeting Amit Shah on Tuesday May 3 to join BJP while holding a post is unbecoming of a leader of his seniority. The decision could have been taken in more respectful manner, he noted.
Hariprasad added that Horatti at least could have conducted in a manner that would have upheld the dignity of the post.
