Bengaluru: The High Court on Thursday granted a stay on the letter by the BBMP Chief Engineer (projects) with regard to blacklisting the Palike contractors.

The Chief Engineer had proposed to authorities concerned about blacklisting as many as 32 contractors who were allegedly involved in the fake bill scam in Malleswaram, Gandhinagar and Rajarajeshwarinagar Assembly constituencies.

A total of 13 contractors had approached the court seeking stay on the Chief Engineer’s letter dated November 16, 2015, thereby barring them from participating in tender process.

The petitioners are G S Shivaswamy, M Nagesh, L Mahesh, K S Bharath,  C Lakshmi Narayana, M Manjunath, C P Umesh, T G Suresh, M Naveen, C G Chandrappa, N C Nagaraj, R Chandrappa and M D Shivakumar.

Hearing the petition, Justice Anand Byrareddy ordered notice and granted stay on the letter.
