Herd of elephants driven back into forest by officials

Kanakapura: Sixteen elephants, which were found near Muneshwara hills in Kodihalli were driven back to forest by the Forest Department Officials.

For the past three days the elephants have destroyed the crops grown by the farmers of Hukundha, Chikkoppa, Doddakoppa, Channsandra villages. The farmers complained to the Forest Department officials about the menace the elephants were causing.

Responding to the farmers’ complaint, a team of Subdivisional Forest Officials Krishna and Arun, forest gaurds Narasimha, and Raju under the guidance of Regional Forest Officer Dinesh, and with the help of the farmers burnt crackers and chased away the elephants into the forest.
